The Municipal Area Partnership is a body composed of neighboring municipalities who have come together to work collaboratively on topics of regional impact and efficiencies.

In 2008 MAP formally decided to make sustainability planning and philosophy a key focus, advancing its role as a leader committed to a sustainable future.
Since MAP was established a great deal of work has been done to build relationships between the member municipalities. Monthly meetings offer the opportunity for information sharing and discussion. Members of MAP strive to identify opportunities to advocate for the region, educate in the region, and develop collaborative processes.
2010 has been a year of work dedicated to regional sustainability planning and MAP governance. MAP member municipalities have remained committed to collaboration through very difficult conversations. Finding ways to work together across multiple political boundaries is never an easy task. MAP has been successful in overcoming many obstacles. This planning document, the MAP Sustainability Plan, is the result of MAP dedication to municipal collaboration and it provides philosophy and process for achieving our sustainability vision.
